Saturday 23rd April Gresford ( Away ) League
We turned up with just 9 players today due to
holidays / injury. The effort the lads put in was
more than enough to compensate for those who
were missing, we more than matched gresford in
the first half with both teams having plenty of
chances to score but it was 0-0 half time.Second
half took its toll on a few tired legs and
gresford managed to put 3 past us but the
players can hold their heads up high as they
never gave up, even when we went down to 8 men
as gaz had pulled a muscle.
A big thanks to all players and parents for this
season.

Saturday 16th April Marchwiel ( Away ) League
A fantastic start to the game, (in which we probably
played the best football all season). We were on the
attack from the off with dewi powering his down the wing
on numerous occasions. It fibnally paid off when we won
the ball in midfield, gaz plyed the ball out to dewi
who then crossed it in for shay to score. We then had a
corner from which iwan had time to bring the ball down
and shoot to put us 2-0 up. Kyle put us 3-0 up with a
good run into the box and slot past the keeper. Shay
grabbed his second of the game with a carbon copy of his
first. We went on the attack again and just as shay set
himself for his hatrick gaz hatton sneaked in front him
to score and put us 5-0 up at half time.Dewi had ran
himself into the ground and had to come off at half time
feeling ill so liam williams came on to replace him.
Lewis parry went on the wing and put in a massive
display of power and pace, he had loads of chances to
score but it was one of those days for him the keeper
pulled off no end if saves to keep the score down. But
in the last minute some nice footwork from shay in the
corner enabled him to drive the ball across the
goalmouth for liam to tap in and make it 6.
Another solid display by the midfield and our defence.
A

Saturday 9th April Llay ( Away ) League
A slow and scrappy start to the match with very
few chances for either side, we managed to go
ahead with a goal from lewis parry to leave the
score 1-0 half time. Dewi came off with an
injury, kyle davies came on to replace him and
with his first contribution to the match he ran
down the wing, cut in and scored to make it 2-0.
A couple of minutes later iwan lloyd scored to
put us 3 up. Liam williams came on for lewis
and he managed to grab 2 goals before kyle
scored again. With 3 players on hatricks, the
game went a bit scrappy again as each player
tried to score, Iwan managed to get hatrick with
the goal of the game,a long range effort from
outside the box. Agood effort all round and a
solid display from the defence.

Saturday 2nd April Ruthin ( Away ) League
This score line does not do the lads any
justice. Even the ruthin manager said at the end
of the match that this was closer than the
scoreline states. The game started withh ruthin
on the break and they forced a corner. The ball
was swung in to the far post but unfortunately
for kyle he tried to clear but the ball went in.
They went 2-0 up by half time. We changed our
shape in the second half and started the
stronger with lewis parry just shooting wide,
then gaz griffiths hit a long range shot and it
just slid under their keeper to put us 2-1.We
kept pushing for the equaliser but ruthin
cleared and hit us on the break to go 3-1 up.
We
again
changed
shape trying to get back into the game
going close several times but getting no joy.
They kept hitting us on the break but credit to
Ceri in goal she played fantastic stopping
nearly everything. The game was played fair with
a good spirit and we lost today to probably the
team that will win our league. Keep your heads
up boys for the rest of the season.

Saturday 12th March Garden
Village ( Away ) League
Cup
A difficult cup match with us only having 11
available players due to
Iwan
and
Liam
being cup tied. The game started with a fast pace
both teams attacking end to end.Garden
Village
took the lead with the ball going straight in
off a corner. The score remained like that until
just before
half time, when the ball came over from the
right with
Shay
Griffiths
slotting home at the far post only to be flagged
offside, we couldn’t believe it as there
was 2 people on the goal line, so it
remained
1-0
at
half time.
Straight
from the kick off
Lewis
Parry
latched on to a ball from
Gaz
Hatton
and ran through to put us 1-1.
We
then
took the lead a few minutes later with a carbon
copy of the first goal
lewis
Parry
scoring again.Garden
Village
had a corner which we cleared and the full
back from Garden
Village
ran on to the ball and hit it from about 30
yards out which flew in the top corner, it was
one we all had to applaud.
A few minutes later a Garden
Village
player ran through with
Clwyd
along side him,
Ceri
came out made a brilliant save, then the ref
blew his whistle for a penalty for clwyd
apparently dragging the player back,this
put them 3-2 up
We pushed and pushed with 2 mins to go the ball
came over to the far post and
Shay
slotted home to level things up.In
extra time things could not have started worse
for us,
Owen
went to clear off the line, the ball bobbled up
and the ref said it had hit him on the arm.
Penalty 4-3 to them.A
ball came over the top and
Ceri
came out caught the ball in a challenge with a Garden
Village
player but the ball dropped and they put they
scored
to make it 5-3.Second half of extra time they
went 6-3 up and we pulled it back to 6-4 with
another
poached goal from
Shay
but it was not to be.
Keep your heads up you did penycae proud.
Good luck to garden village in the final

Saturday 26th February Park
Youth ( Away ) League
A game that produced a lot of goals, we started
well again today with early pressure paying off,
after some good play down the right the ball was
crossed in and was met by shay to put us 1-0 up.
We then went 2-0 up with a goal from gareth
griffiths but straight after that we let the
lead slip with a mix up at the back that let
park youth score to make it 2-1.We
pushed hard to the end of the first half with us
going in 6-1 with goals from gaz hatton, kyle
davies, iwan lloyd and another from shay
( dodgy own goal but he still claimed it).The
second half we made a couple of changes and
worked hard to finish the game 11-1, goals
coming from robbie mates, lewis parry and
completing hatricks were shay and gareth
griffiths.Keep it up boys semi final against
garden village next.

Saturday 19th February
Marchwiel ( Away ) League
Cup
| We started
strongly for a change and it paid off with
Lewis parry running from his own half to put
us 1-0 up. A few minutes later Gaz Hatton
hit a shot from outside the box to loop over
the keepers head, Kyle Davies cut in off the
right to finish and put us 3-0 up at half
time.
In the second half Dewi
Roberts hit the goal of the game from
just outside the box. Marchwiel pulled a
goal back from the penalty spot.
Kyle ran through again to
put us 5-1 up and then with a goal line
scramble he completed his hat
trick. This result now puts us into semi
final so well done boys and Ceri

Saturday 5th February Coedpoeth ( Home ) League
The weather played a major factor in
this game, we kicked with the wind and played most of
the half in the visitors half. We kept knocking on the
door but credit to the Coedpoeth defence they battled
well. Kyle Davies managed to round the keeper to put us
1-0 up at half time. For most of the second half it was
Coedpoeth putting us under loads of pressure with the
wind behind them and they equalised with about 10
minutes to go. A good game all round and a special
mention to Dan Roberts who refereed his first ever
match.

Saturday 15th January Rhosddu ( Home ) League
After 8 weeks off due to the weather we couldn’t
wait to play again, the match started very slow
for us with rhosddu putting us under a lot of
pressure for the the first 10 minutes. We finally
got the ball into their half and went on the
attack, a rhosddu player cleared the ball to the
edge of the box, it fell to lewis parry who hit
it straight into the bottom corner to put us
1-0. Gareth Griffiths then doubled our lead with
some good play down the right from kyle davies.
We then had a penalty for a hand ball but once
again we missed by hitting the bar. Our third
came from a goal line scramble in the second
half harry Austin got the final touch. Kyle
davies made it 4 with a well deserved effort and
to finish dewi Roberts tucked away the 5th.We
had a second penalty and yet again we managed to
hit the crossbar. So I think it will be penalty
training this week. All in all a good team effort
keep it up boys

Saturday 13th November Mynydd
Issa
( Home ) N.E.Wales Cup
We made the worst possible start going behind
after only one minute Things go progressively
worse and we found ourselves four down at half
time, a genuine penalty appeal on Dewi - not
given and a good run and shot by Harry Edwards
our only moments of significance. What a start
to the opening five minutes second half, another
good penalty claim turned down followed by a
sending off (no comment) leaving us with an
uphill struggle This only galvanized the team
and we showed great character with lots of
possession creating various chances but the away
team defended well. As we pushed forward we were
suspect to the counter attack but it was worth
the risk I couldn't ask for more of the team
second half proud of you all. Good luck to Issa
in the next round.

Saturday 6th November Ruthin
( Home ) League
This top of the table clash ended
in disappointment for ourselves in what was a
game of two halves. Played our best football to
date in the first half Gaz Hatton putting us in
front with a 20 yard screamer. Sadly we conceded
a poor goal off a set play at the end of first
half and went in level. Midway through the
second half and we gave another two (from our
point of view) poor goals and credit to the
opposing team they went on to dominate the game
with some good football.

Saturday 23rd October Coedpoeth (
Away ) League
Straight from the start we created two
good opportunities that the home keeper saved well and
then on the counter attack we conceded a goal but
responded and Callum Vaughan with two finishes put us up
2-1 all in the opening ten minutes. The score line
remained the same until half time despite us creating
numerous chances to kill the game off. As expected
Coedpoeth put us under pressure immediately after the
restart, but with good defending as a team we took
control and a good pass by Gaz Hatton to Robbie Mates
resulted in a fine 15 yard strike. Further goals
followed with Shay Griffiths getting the final touch off
a well drilled corner again by Gaz Hatton who himself
completed the scoring, rounding the keeper to finish
from an acute angle.

Saturday 16th October Borras
Rangers (
Away ) League Cup
On paper this was the
toughest fixture to date and so it proved to be.
Borras came straight at us from the
whistle and put us
on the back foot for the first fifteen minutes but
we got into the match
and Callum Vaughan put us in front with a shot inside the box with our
first chance of the game.
Straight from kick off a harsh Penalty was awarded against us
(the 4th in 4 games) and
it was 1-1.
With ten minutes to go first half Thomas Colley
threaded a good through ball inside
the fullback for a
first time cross
by Lewis Parry and Callum Vaughan finished
well with a left foot
shot to put us
back in front and a rather fortuitous lead.
Second half we raised
our game and a great run
and cross
by Dewi Roberts was finished with a fine half volley by Lewis Parry.Back
came the home team who
scored off a corner with ten minutes remaining,
resolute defending as a team ensured the victory in
what was a fantastic game against a very good team.

Saturday 9th October
Llay ( Home ) League
We requested a high tempo from
the start and the team didn't disappoint. Callum scoring
after only 1 minute with further goals by Harry Edwards
And Gaz Hatton putting us 3-0 up after only 8 minutes.
Not for the first time this season we then faced an
opposing team that had ten players behind the ball. A
good passing move midway through the half resulted
in Robbie Mates scoring his first goal for the club with
a fine finish and then leading scorer Callum Vaughan
netting two more for his hatrick to put us 6-0 at the
break. Lewis Parry making his debut had an immediate
impact with two assists for Shay and Callum and then
scoring himself. The away team were then awarded a
penalty ( the third against us in as many games ) and
despite a great attempt by Jack Davies pulled a goal
back. Shay scored his second late on in the game to
complete a very good performance by all in the team

Rhosddu ( Away ) League
A fine display
today against a team that at times
had 10 players behind the ball but despite this we
played a patient game and after 10 mins Robbie Mates
played a great defence splitting pass putting in Shay
Griffiths who finished well at the back post. Further
goals from Dewi Roberts and a hat rick by Callum Vaughan
including a fine 20 yard strike put us in control at
half time. The home team pulled a goal back straight from
the kick off but we responded in the correct way with
further goals by Burberry Bagnell, Callum Vaughans 4th
and a sublime solo goal by Dewi Roberts for his second
of the game.

Saturday September 18th
Marchweil ( Home ) League
Robbie Mates made his debut at centre half in what was a
makeshift defence. Things got worse as fellow centre
half Gaz Hatton was taken off injured after only 10
minutes. Marchweil were then awarded a penalty and
despite a great save from Ceri they scored off the
rebound to go 1-0 up. Great response from Penycae as the
levelled almost immediately when Thomas Colley scored at
the near post from a corner. Burberry Bagnell then put
the home side 2-1 just before half time. He then added his second early in the second half with a good
finish inside the box to put Penycae 3-1 up. Despite the
2 goal deficit the visitors battled hard and reduced the
arrears midway in the second half and then finally drew
level with only 3 minutes left. Credit to both times
